From the History of the Franciscan Monastery in Kalisz 1864-1902. Selected Characters

Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected silhouettes of Franciscan monastery monastery in Kalisz in 1864-1902. The next superiors were moved: Julian Ościk (superior 1865-1868), Bernard Drągowski (superior 1868-1872), Ignacy Rożniewski (superior 1872-1876), Kazimierz Głogowski (superior 1876-1891), Stefan Maciejowski (superior 1892-1898) i Apolinary Kędzierski (superior 1898-1902). There are also silhouettes of some other monks, especially the responsible functions in the monastery. Some, like Jan Majewski, did not stand up to the task, others were support for subsequent superiors. The Order did not have the opportunity to influence the selection of people, because the nominations for monastery positions were subject to approval by the tsari authorities.
