Summary/Abstract: The article we are presenting briefly deals with the changes that occurred in the decrees of marriage law in the current Codex of Canon Law, promulgated in 1983, and which were made in three cases (can. 1086, § 1; can. 1117; can. 1124) by Pope Benedict XVI with his apostolic letter of MP Omnium in mentem from October 26, 2009, and in 6 cases (can. 1108, § 3; can. 1109; can. 1111, § 1; can. 1112, § 1; can. 1116, § 3; can. 1127, § 1) by Pope Francis with his apostolic letter of MP De concordia inter Codices dated September 15, 2016. At te Pope’s Benedict cases, it was about omitting the sentence „and did not fall from it by a formal act“ from three canons (can. 1086, § 1; can. 1117 and can. 1124), and at the Pope’s Francis cases, the changes consisted in adding new paragraphs in two canons (can. 1108, § 3 and can. 1116, § 3), in supplementing two paragraphs by referring to the new, 3rd paragraph in can. 1108, and in two canons (can. 1109 and 1127, § 1) on the replacement of two terms by others.
