Summary/Abstract: Air bombings committed during World War II are still the subject of livelypolitical and historical discussions. The scale of damage done by the air force inthis conflict raises questions about the importance of international law in force inarmed conflicts, especially its role in reducing the atrocities of war and protecting those who do not participate in hostilities. This article is an attempt to answerthe question about the scope of the legal regime to which the phenomenon of airbombing was subjected.
