Summary/Abstract: Macedonian folklore is rich in poems and legends about construction sacrifice. However, this folkloric narration lacks empathizing with the victim and it shows the influence of the patriarchal model in cultural patterns. The sacrificing of one’s wife or young girls, young boys and even infants is never questioned and also not even recognized as a crime or a sin. Only the determination to sacrifice at any cost seems to rule this narration and as such it is presented as the only way to successfully complete the construction. The new philosophical orientation formed during the 20th century called “revisionist fiction” or “prototypical rewriting” examines these religious dogmas and ideas and points out the victim’s perspective. Together with the New Age Movement, they create a new level of understanding and recreating new cultural patterns and point out the need to change the old ways in the era of transformation.
