Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author reconstructs the beginnings of educational aids of classical literature by analyzing the earliest known series „Uchenicheska biblioteka” („Students’ Library”) in Bulgaria. It is rich in examples of emerging publishing Strategies and newly introduced changes in the editorial-publishing process that stimulated profiling in book publishing. The Series demonstrates modern publishing principles and proves that although they emerged in institutional environment and became integrated over time with additional educational and aesthetic functions, the teaching aids of literary classics represent a sustainable publishing segment binding schools with publishing business together.
