Summary/Abstract: The book “The Greatness of Constantine and our fate” by Petko Atanasov is a comprehensive and detailed presentation of Constantine’s time and deeds. Petko Atanasov looks upon these key events and the figure of Constantine the Great from the point of view of the Balkans and Thrace which were the birthplaces of the Emperor and played a key role in his life and reign. Atanasov analyzes the history of Christianity, the transition from Paganism towards a Christianized Roman Empire and the major role of Constantine in this process. Petko Atanasov’s thesis is that the Ancient Thracian tradition was a significant influence and motivation for the Emperor’s actions.
