Summary/Abstract: There are around twenty minorities in Serbia, and therefore the role of written speech in preserving the cultural identity of minorities is great. The author emphasizes the role of libraries in Tsaribrod and Bosilegrad in non-formal education of users, especially in preserving the language and culture of the Bulgarian national minority in Serbia. The organized activities and programs of the “Detko Petrov” National Library in Tsaribrod in connecting the Serbian and Bulgarian culture through literary meetings with Serbian and Bulgarian authors are presented as well as its role in promoting the work of literary activists from the Bulgarian minority in Serbia.
