You Have The POWER! Small Steps towards the Goal. Pedagogical Innovation for the 21st Century!

Summary/Abstract: Aim. The aim of this article is to present the author's model of pedagogical innovation: You have the POWER! Dream! Discover! Set your goals!Methods. This article describes the innovation model based on the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen, which involves achieving specific goals through small steps. There are three steps. The first step is to dream, the second — to discover your strengths, and the third — to set your goals. These steps are successive. Following these steps allows schoolchildren to develop their skills in defining a self-realization plan, recognizing their own resources, and creating a positive self-image. These skills are necessary for 9-14 years olds to define their needs and learn how meet satisfy them.Results. Pedagogical innovations are an important element of school reality. They enable the implementation of activities that respond to the real needs of children and adolescents.. This article presents an evaluation of the research results of the innovation model described. The assessments of the implementers of this innovation (teachers) as well as its recipients (students) confirm that it is both attractive and effective.Conclusions. This article presents a comprehensive description of the author's model innovation, including theoretical foundations, aim, thematic scope, didactic methods and evaluation results. The contents presented here link the areas of theory, empiricism and pedagogical practice.
