Summary/Abstract: In 1991, the following acts were passed: on the State Fire Service and on fire protection. Many academics from the University of Wrocław participated in the work on the acts. In the years 2009–2021, at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław, scientific conferences were held on the issues of public safety, taking into account the special role of the State Fire Service and voluntary fire brigades. Professor Tadeusz Kocowski played a special role in the cooperation of the scientific community and the firefighting community.
