Summary/Abstract: A small fragment of the Polish publishing market, which comprises the Japanese comics, has been lately undergoing a dynamic growth, connected with the increasing fascination with Japanese culture and the popularity of this kind of literature. The Waneko publishing house, founded in 1999, has published 793 issues during the last 18 years. In 2017 alone it released 154 issues. Since the beginning of its existence the publishing house offers its audience at least one new title (with the exception of 2011). The vast majority of their output – 95% – consists of manga, usually directed at a young reader and including parts of drama and fantasy. The longest series comprise even 25 volumes (Kuroshitsuui and Kuroko’s basket – both ongoing). The wide offer makes Waneko appear in the forefront of the Polish manga publishing houses.
