Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the history of the creation of the Huba.news website. During the period of active operation from April 2016 to January 2018, the service served as a kind of research laboratory in which were tested navigation solutions, a search system and the use of personalization mechanisms. Conducted by Interia measurements of user activity made it possible to verify the theoretical assumptions about how to create a navigation structure for their future use in other services of the portal Interia.pl. The Huba.news website also had a didactic function. His CMS was a tool made available to students of the Pedagogical University of Krakow, who could familiarize themselves with the practical issues of the editor’s work on the website.
