Summary/Abstract: Bringing the folk song in the first plan as a working element in the music education of the interwar period, made George Breazul succeed in imposing this discipline as a model in the Romanian educational system.The approach made from a modal point of view, demonstrates the antiquity and authenticity of Romanian folk music on the territories where Romanians live, requires an analysis not only ethnomusicological, but also in other disciplines such as musicology in general and music pedagogy in particular. Folk songs of various genres make the"Romanian", as George Breazul calls them, to be at the same time "moved"and a part in the unfolding of this musical phenomenon.
