Summary/Abstract: The representative work of the folklorist Trandafir Jurjovan places the research of the folklore of the Serbian Banat and the name of the author in a place of honour in the history of Romanian folklore. In the 22 carols, the collector distinguishes "12 characteristic musical types", appreciating that "in general, the musical typology of the carols from Ovča, very well preserved over time, proves also by its morphological structure that it belongs to the unitary background of Romanian folklore".
