Summary/Abstract: In the long history of the “Przyjaciel Dzieci” weekly, the period in which Wacław Podwiński was the editor-in-chief turned out to be a next step in revising the “classical” image of the publication and moving towards further careful adaptation to new post-positivist artistic, intellectual and social tendencies. It was mainly noticeable in the changes to the internal structure of the weekly occurring since 1912, opening up to include selected elements of modernist literature and art, along with the interest in the scouting movement developing in Poland.
