Summary/Abstract: The review presents a new academic book, created as a result of a national scientific conference which took place in May 2019, hosted by the Regional History Museum – Pleven. The scientific proceedings systematize new ideas and interpretations, dedicated to the development of our liberation movement against the Ottoman rule in the late 1860s and early 1870s. A special emphasis is placed on the topic of creation of revolutionary committees in the Bulgarian settlements under the leadership of the eminent revolutionary activist Vasil Levski.
