Summary/Abstract: Whether we are environmentally oriented or not, the sustainable and viable development of the environment is a topic that currently requires a lot of attention. Thinking in this way about the current trends of society, we can affirm the fact that both the sphere of the digital transformation of the country and that of the sustainability of the economy represent political challenges of our times. The green economy aims to reduce environmental risks in relation to increasing the well-being of the population. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by promoting the use of renewable resources is a strong objective of all states that want to ensure a balance between social, economic and ecological factors. When it comes to a green and sustainable economy, it is essential to develop a more inclusive economic model that creates jobs and offers acceptable economic prospects to its citizens, aiming to ensure a decent life with equal rights for all people while protecting the environment surrounding. In Romania, the transition to this economic model focused on prosperity and sustainability requires the financing of sustainable investments and is carried out through European programs or public financing policies aimed at protecting the environment, through fiscal instruments, such as subsidies or environmental taxes, or even through the promotion tradable permit schemes. Each state can play a key role in supporting the transition to sustainable development and promoting investment in green technologies by adopting a diverse range of sustainable economic policies.
