Summary/Abstract: In countries that define themselves as democratic, there are cyclical moments that mobilize a large part of the society. This mobilization is visible in various areas that relate to public space: in local government units, in self-government and central authorities, in the media, in religious communities, etc. they are elected by the people through the act of election. Life experience and the example of Polish democracy after 1989 show that the above assumptions, for the most part, are not always implemented. However, we can talk about at least two undesirable actions of candidates as part of the election campaign: election promises and election corruption. The aim of the article is to present the issue of electoral corruption in the light of personalistic ethics. The choice, although subjective, seems to be justified on the grounds that personalism touches upon the issue of socio-political problems from the perspective of the concept of the common good.
