Summary/Abstract: On the margin of the issues of this volume of the Ethos quarterly, it may be worth mentioning mention a special, exclusive type of vision, which is mystical vision. The term itself contains a certain paradox, because the word "mystical" comes from it from the term "mystery", which is derived from the Greek verb "myein", which means, among other things, "close your eyes". In the most common understanding, mysticism is defined as "a peculiar state of mind, a transcendent form of consciousness ordinary experiences”. Mystical vision thus transcends "ordinary" experiences visual and takes place beyond visual perception, "with eyes closed". PseudoDionysius the Areopagite in his concept of negative theology captures this idea of experience mystical as follows: "We pray to enter that higher than all the light of darkness, and through our lack of seeing and through our ignorance to see and know, without seeing or knowing Him who is above all sight and knowledge. To the essence of the mystic's spiritual journey, which culminates in union with God, belongs, as testified in their writings, especially by St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Ávila, the deep experience that precedes this and the purification that is the condition for itall human faculties to the point of complete "emptying".
