Summary/Abstract: The article tests chronopoetics as a method for studying the relationship betweenhistorical poetics and units of time, in the methodological perspective of the relationshipbetween literary studies and the cultural history of technology. An important strand ofthe issue is the ways of allegorizing the clock/watch in depictions of early modern andtwentieth-century poetry.
