Cultural Theory of Literature as a Research Style

Summary/Abstract: The article describes the cultural theory of literature project as a research style. Thiscategory allows us to grasp its specificity. So far, scholars have described it from theperspective of theory-centric science studies, which treated it as an anti-paradigm.The change in optics allows us to see that while the cultural theory of literature is nota paradigm, neither can it be considered a loose assemblage of individuals united bythe external circumstances of working in the same place. Instead, the cultural theory ofliterature is a research style, namely a system of “perceptual, practical, and evaluativepredispositions” that serves as “a tool for mobilizing and combining disparate resources,practices, and claims”.
