Summary/Abstract: The multilingual turn that has recently surfaced in many areas of modern humanitieschallenges monolingual national linguistic ideologies. This approach foregroundscommunication in a multilingual context as the basic communicative situation, recognizing that the subjects acting under such conditions employ the strategy ofoperating with a complex and heterogeneous linguistic repertoire. The article applies theperspective developed in the multilingual turn that interprets Polish literature as openingto regional languages. The author interprets the works of Szczepan Twardoch (Drach,Pokora, Byk, Chołod) and Marian Pilot (Samodział, Pióropusz, Ssapy, szkudły, świętojanki.Słownik gwary Siedlikowa, Dzikie mięso) as studies on the identity of multilingualindividuals and local groups, along with the affirmation of a complex diversity of regionalcultures.
