Summary/Abstract: The article reflects on the discourses the anthropology of literature has practiced inPoland in the last twenty years. The text overviews selected methodologies used in thesediscourses and ways of distinguishing research fields in the anthropology of literature.Moreover, the article indicates the problems related to the relationship betweenanthropology and literature, which in some approaches assume a transdisciplinaryform. The characterization of the discourse in the anthropology of literature includesthe context of Western research and its significance for the formation of domesticanthropology of literature.
