Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on transformations in the anthropology of literature that haveoccurred over the past decades and on the connections between anthropology andliterature. These are examined in terms of turns – with particular emphasis on Polishgender studies – as well as transformations: from constructivist assumptions throughnew ontology and epistemology to the redefinition of the subject and the links betweenanthropology and post-anthropocentric tendencies. The article highlights how the sharedproblematization of the foundations of anthropology (panfictionality) and literature(metafiction) – important a few decades ago and often called the literaturization ofanthropology or anthropologization of literature – is becoming obsolete in favorof parallel activities: indicating the agency, symbiosis, and non-obvious character of thesubject and the beings that coexist with it, which is noticed by both cultural anthropologyand literature.
