Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present an outline of the problem of the forest as a source of inspiration for artistic creativity. The forest is an extremely rich source of inspiration that can be found in culture: folklore, symbols, and especially in art. As this thematic area is extremely wide, examples from the field of visual arts have been selected, as representatives of the artistic works inspired by the forest.
