Summary/Abstract: The research objective of the article is to defi ne the role and importance of creative thinking in the search, creation and implementation of innovative solutions in various organizations in the country and abroad. The research thesis is as follows: using the right types of thinking can have an impact on innovative activity. In order to obtain answers, research questions were asked: “What type of thinking seems to be the most useful in innovative activity?” and “What factors - apart from the aforementioned thinking - influence the innovation process?” While writing the article, the method of literature studies and the method of analysis and criticism of literature were used. Above analysis was to help verify the thesis and answer the research questions posed. The article presents selected Polish and foreign organizations and their leaders in selected periods of history.
