Summary/Abstract: The source of the contemporary ecological crisis lies in man himself, therefore the most valuable values that should be developed and educated in him are cognitive, emotional and action attitudes, thus positive towards the natural environment. Setting the right goals for environmental education in kindergartens and their consistent implementation is of great importance. In a word, it is about shaping an ecological attitude in a child, which is characterized by a wide perception ability towards natural and social phenomena, curiosity about the world and the laws that govern it, awareness and understanding of the connections, dependencies and laws prevailing in nature, responsibility towards all forms of life, activity, sense of bond with nature and people as part of the biocenosis and respect for diversity and tolerance. Raising and educating children in the spirit of love, respect and understanding of the natural world is one of the overarching paths of the multilateral development of a child’s personality. We have to start environmental education in kindergarten, because in this period the child is characterized by a very high cognitive activity, emotional sensitivity, has a great ability to learn new skills and is susceptible to the influence of the environment and the teacher. Currently, an extremely important problem of humanity at the threshold of the 21st century is survival and creating conditions for a dignified life for future generations, living in harmony with nature and other people, so we should all be aware that the protection and shaping of the environment in which we live is a necessity and a fundamental duty. each one of us.
