Summary/Abstract: English society at the beginning of the 17th century was influenced by the turmoil in political life but also by the tensions caused by the numerous religious minorities. In this context of religious disputes, several religious minorities appeared in England, with categorical views on religious practices, lifestyles, social morals, and involved themselves to a greater or lesser extent in political life. It is worth noting that these religious minorities allowed women to assert themselves in a conservative, male-dominated society, in which they were perceived as weak, sinful, intellectually inferior and prone to physical pain, because the followers of these sects believed that men and women, they are equal in the eyes of God, therefore they should be equal in the Church and in the community.
