Summary/Abstract: As the most outstanding Islamic intellectual of the socialist period of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein Đozo made an immeasurable contribution to the development and affirmation of the national identity of Bosniaks. With his authorial achievements and social engagement, he significantly participated in the census of the 1970s, thus contributing to the idea of equality between the citizens and peoples of his country. His affirmative address to members of the Islamic religious community during this process enhanced their national self-understanding and political growth.
