Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the links between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the main fascist movement of the 30th Romania, the Iron Guard, also known as the legionary movement. It stresses the fact that the Orthodox Church continues to avoid any reference to the consequences of religious anti-Semitism and to the priests’ involvement with Romanian Fascism. Not only ignored, but also tolerated by the Church, these issues are easily resurfaced by the new rightist movement in order to legitimate their extremist nationalism and intolerant attitude.
