Summary/Abstract: During a period of intense cultural revolutions, in public and cultural life of Iași, it is distinguished the figure of Alexandru Philippide, scholar-linguist, university professor. His prodigious teaching activity gave birth to leading researchers of the Romanian language, which have taken, to a greater or lesser extent, the spirit and concerns of their magister. Thus, the erudition of professor Alexandru Philippide, in its authentic form, led to the birth of the linguistic school in Iasi. In this article, we aim to present the figure of Alexandru Philippide as a teacher and his pedagogical conceptions.
