Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present a strategy for describing ecological issues and to identify elements of ecocriticism in selected works of contemporary Ukrainian literature. A concise analysis covers mainly prose works, one play and Ukrainian themes in the work of Olga Tokarczuk. The issues of interdependence between people and the world around them, the literary image of life and death in a known space, were brought to the fore. The problem of occupation of the native land and the hostility of the previously known world were also touched upon. The article contains a short analysis of possible scenarios of nature’s rebirth in the context of creating new relationships with people.
