Summary/Abstract: The present study shows that ludic activities are far from inappropriate for adult students (in this case those of the Police Academy), on the contrary, they facilitate the vocabulary learning effort and make the subject of study more attractive. The author has found out that, at any age, ludic activities are a psychological tool, a precious instrument for the teacher, and should be used as often as possible, without risking to make the study subject become frivolous or childish. This study proposes various types of didactic lexical games, with concrete examples. Learning without realising the effort to do it is the hidden purpose of such activities. I would like to express grateful acknowledgements to Professor Ileana Chersan, for the precious examples I have found in her very useful book on the matter.
