Summary/Abstract: Around the globe, each day we hear that, for companies operating in tough competitive environments, the 21st century is the century of “responsibility”. In developing a point of view on this statement, we should start from the definition of the term responsibility, which comes from the French language ("responsabilité") and, in fact, involves the ability to answer for one's own actions or inactions whether it is an individual or a company. It is obvious that, in the current environment, both domestically and internationally, there is an extraordinary large offer of products and services on the market. And the market chooses what it wants, being obviously influenced by various elements: quality, marketing, price, availability, the status of the supplier and of the employer. The approach is a detailed research, identifying and presenting the dimensions of corporate social responsability manifested by a particular category of companies – family businesses listed on the stock exchanged, by giving a major interest in literature and specialized articles.
