Summary/Abstract: Teohar Mihadaș managed to survive the most terrible communist prisons (Gherla, Aiud, Canal), rightly nicknamed "the slaughterhouses of the Romanian elite?’’. For posterity, he remains the type of the anti-communist intellectual who refuses to collaborate with the odious regime, even if for this he sacrifices his youth and family life.
