Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present an analysis of the library of The Faculty of Orthodox Theology “Justinian the Patriarch”, from library science perspective, by presenting its establishment, the historical development and its status in the post-communist era, along with the informatisation process, as a modernisation process. There are few studies that have presented only the library as a distinct structure of the faculty, and that is because it is hard to separate the library from the faculty itself. By reinterpreting all the information about the library, we can conclude that it was from the beginning an important library for the academic and theological community in Bucharest, it was close to the heart of all the clergy and hosted, and it still does, important collections of old and rare books, important theological collections and specially one of the most important collections of theological periodicals. This library constantly struggled to maintain a high academic level and has functioned by implementing, since its establishment, all the library science standards from its time.
