Language Contact Studies: A Bulgarian Perspective

Summary/Abstract: The paper suggests research „routes“ tracing the linguistic migration of Bulgarian words in the lexical space of other languages. A survey of major studies in this field is made. A minimum list of Bulgarian lexical items is offered, which could serve as the starting point for the collection and analysis of Bulgarian borrowings in other non-Slavic and non-Balkan languages.
