Audiobooks and their development in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: An overview of audiobooks in their contemporary vision is made. The beginning of their development and history are traced throughout, as well as their improvement over the years worldwide and in Bulgaria. Audiobooks in their initial form were seen as an essential human need as of mouth-to-mouth communication. With the inventing of the first sound recording machine, modernization began as a process of sound books, which have not stopped their development to this day. They are becoming more and more popular every day and this is causing the emergence of various online platforms and communities.
