Summary/Abstract: Death is an inseparable part of our existence, of our journey on Earth. We are born and we die this is the only certainty of our life. Many philosophers or theologians have tried to explain the meaning of life. We don't know where we are going, we only know that death is a part of us. Religion, the belief in God, is the only thing that gives hope to man in the struggle with his own existence. The imminent death on the battlefields makes the Romanian soldiers seek shelter in faith, pray and accept their destiny. Faith in God is what helps them endure the harsh and dramatic conditions of war. In the context of war, the lack of the funeral ritual is also soul-destroying, as this is a quintessential custom in every Christian nation. War is not glorious, war means suffering, pain, death and deep sorrowness. In the context of horror, the attitude towards the greatest representation of the Romanian peasant is that of resignation and acceptance of death as a natural thing inseparable from our existence.
