Summary/Abstract: The article aims to consider the patient’s right to object to the medical opinion or certificate in the context of the doctor’s autonomy and the patient’s autonomy as part of providing health services. The exercising by the patient the above right, which enables the verification of the doctor’s decision, demands the fulfilment of the legal requirements. The above analysis demonstrates that the current form of the legal regulation caused the practical difficulties of effective exercise of the rights granted to the patient. It seems that the simplification of the objection procedure would contribute to more effective exercising of the patients’ rights and thus ensure an adequate level of patient protection.
