“The best interests of the child.” The term and its application in the functioning of administrative courts

Summary/Abstract: This study attempts to demonstrate the understanding of the term “the best interests of the child” across international law and through the lens of applicable domestic regulations, with a particular focus on the judicial output of administrative courts. The main goal is to examine whether the lack of legal definition of the term poses a substantial obstacle to applying the children’s rights regulations by the administrative courts, thus lowering the standards of children’s protection.
