Verification of the applicable legislation and the protection of a migrant worker under the European Union law on the coordination of social security systems

Summary/Abstract: The author describes the issue of retroactive determination of the applicable legislation on the basis of EU law on the coordination of social security systems. He proposes the introduction of legal protection for employees against the effect of “disappearing insurance periods” and the lack of applicable legislation of any EU member state in a given period of time.
