Digital storytelling – new perspectives for academic libraries

The digital stories of Blagoevgrad

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the use of the digital storytelling method in higher education, presenting a specific example of a local digital storytelling project of the American University in Bulgaria through the Library’s perspective. Challenges, results and good practices from the preparation and hands on work on this project are shared, which would serve the academic and library community in building capacity for future similar digital initiatives. Along with achieving educational goals, the library also acted as a mediator between the university and the local institutions, as well as established effective library advocacy by creating models for successful interdepartmental collaboration between the library, students, and faculty.
