The National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” solemnly celebrated its 144th anniversary

Summary/Abstract: The National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” celebrated 144 years since its foundation. The Director of the Library, Prof. Dr. Krasimira Alexandrova, recalled in her welcome speech the landmark events and exhibitions for the Library in 2022. In honor of the anniversary, the Library opened an exhibition with manuscripts from the 17th century belonging to the Adjara Literary School, prepared by collaborators of the “Manuscripts and Old Printed Books” and “Restoration Center” departments. Prof. Elisaveta Musakova presented the exposition and the phototype edition of the Adjara Four Gospels from 1652, which the National Library issued in a numbered bibliophile edition. The celebration ended with an impressive outdoor concert by Stefan Valdobrev and the Usual Suspects.
