Summary/Abstract: The paper talks about the historical village of Dzaboeti in the Ksani Valley, which is located in the Karchokhi community, on the right bank of the Ksani River.Attention is drawn to the medieval castle complex, which consisted of a church, a tower, a fence, and numerous other buildings. As well as the medieval Church of the Savior, where the icons of the Virgin and St. George were ordained. In the temple, two precious items were kept along with the icons -Head chair and brass bowl. The head chair was a secular item and had to be sacrificed to any family for the shrine. There was an inscription on the brass cup: “Mr. Mariam, the wife of Revaz, the wife of Kaplan’s son” ... As it turns out, the cup was handed over to the Orbeliani-Kaplanishvilis for the Eristavi family, the EristaviEven for the sake of the soul, they had to sacrifice for the Church of the Savior of Dzaboeti stand-ing on the estate. The direct donors were Revaz Shalva Eristavi and his daughter Mariam, Revaz Eristavi’s mother and Mariam’s grandmother Ekaterine were from the Kaplanishvili family.The toponym “Dzaboeti” is explained in the paper and based on the analysis of historical sources, it is indicated that Dzaboeti was not only a place where Os-setians settled from the eighteenth century, it was a term referring to a much larger area.Settlement on the native Georgian land of Ossetians dates back to the XVIII century. According to the descendants of the locals, they migrated to the Ksani gorge from the central valley of Dvaleti - Zakha, although it is noteworthy that in Dzaboeti there were frequent changes in the flow of the population and changed accordinglyDemographic situation as well.Based on the historical sources of the XVIII-XIX centuries, it is shown what kind of population settled in Dzaboeti, how their number increased over the years, what kind of taxes they paid, what kind of customs they had. Especially noteworthy is the kindness of the foreign tribes and aboriginal Georgians who cameNeighborly relations, which were strengthened by mixed marriages and enlightenment.At the end of the paper we talk about the last generation of Ossetians living in Dzaboeti and their migration, both in the histori-cal homeland and in the villages of Shida Kartli plain.
