Summary/Abstract: One of Mario Vargas Llosa's most impressive novels is La fiesta del Chivo, which captures the reality of the historical facts about the death of dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina and the atrocities and violence against his assassins. Vargas Llosa seamlessly blends historical fact and fiction, unifying the whole as a skilled observer of society. This is due to the testimonials from his visits to the island of Santo Domingo. Thus, the fictional names that are part of the narrative fiction overlap imperceptibly with real and historical persons.
