Summary/Abstract: Many times, various “things” happen in the life of a school library, either it moves to another premises, or it changes its name but, sometimes, certain libraries transform themselves, so that, sometimes, a school library turns into a public library due to several reasons: either the number of pupils decreased, or by the school move the change of the line is imposed, etc. Our scientific approach looks at such a transformation especially as the results of such approach must be a sign of alert for the decision makers because, in recent years the number of readers decreased very much as well as that of the books read under the terms of the appearance of a “competition” of the state of the art electronic devices such as e-books, tablets or even last generation cell phones which allow for the book reading. At this moment, these devices are a serious competitor for printed books, especially as there are books in electronic format which may be easily downloaded into the previously named devices. And, last but not least, the digitalization of the libraries is an important step which takes us to the transformation of school libraries into public libraries.
