Column as a Reflection of Rosa Montero’s Journalistic Identity

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to indicate the main features of Rosa Montero’s columns on the basis of two books La vida desnuda (1994) and Maneras de vivir (2014). It investigates the topics, techniques of persuasion and the attitude of the journalist towards her readers. The article shows that Montero finds inspiration in her daily life experiences, news, letters and they usually lead her to universal reflections about life. She is conscious of her voice and knows that the readers share her opinions and treat her columns as a common space when they feel safe and lead by the journalist. The columns become thus spaces of meeting.
