THE POEM - A SPACE FOR EXPERIENCING THE SACRED

Summary/Abstract: This current paper’s objective is a consideration of poetry under the name of Prayer. Many poets had a moment in their creations when they defined the faith and rituals by poetic expressions. This title and theme can be seen from the creations of Mihai Eminescu to the creations of Vasile Voiculescu. The poetry voices state admiration, love, enthusiasm or even desperation on the topic and all these emotions are expressed through a literary form. Their creation suggested the communion with God and transfer metaphysically that analyzes. They explore the prototype metaphor of Romanian orthodox life by using their gift to deepen into the spiritual meaning of Christianity, showing how they feel about it. This collection of poems brings us closer to how differently poets experience spirituality, offering us a piece of their journey in searching for knowledge and eternal love as a conversation with the divinity that contains all their feelings about spirituality.
