Summary/Abstract: This study shows the history of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Oradea from its beginnings to the time when it was under the pastorate of the Serbian Orthodox bishops of Arad. They waged a fierce struggle to defend Romanian Orthodoxy in this part of the country from the relentless wave of Catholic union.
