Summary/Abstract: The aim of the following article is to define the concepts of the comic and (dark) humour employing the work of Vladimír Borecký, a Czech scholar and author of the typology of the comic. The text focuses on various features and manifestations of dark humour in selected Czech anecdotes from WWII.
